This takes me back to the 70s when CB radio was all the rage. Our next door neighbor had one in his house. His wife once said that he will spend hours talking to a guy who lives blocks away, yet if those two passed each other on the sidewalk, they would ignore each other completely.

Very apt, I must admit.

I grew up without it and we were able to stay in touch with family and friends. Talking and laughing with a friend or relative far exceeds impersonal digital communication.
