it’s like the cat Mog in Crumb who won’t eat any of the choice cat foods to choose from

I somehow get the impression that April’s too young to say that to you! ;D

How funny! My son at that age would eat then clear his tray from right to left and then look at us with a very satisfied look like he did us a big favor, never mind the mess on the floor. We decided to take the cover off the kitchen garbage can and set it next to his high chair, worked like a charm. We slowly worked to break him of that habit, wouldn’t go over so well in a restaurant or someone’s house. True story!

My boys did not have that problem. They ate everything at that age but THEIR children – whew. Never know if they’d just toss food or play with food. My granddaughter loves to squish food and pour milk on the tray and splash them. The grandson, who is now 7, used to just leave food on the tray and demand to be taken out of the high chair. Now, the third, who’s 4 months old, we will find out when he’s ready for solids and eat in his high chair! Will he be like his dad, or older brother or his sister?

In April’s defense it does look like a bowl of dog kibble.

My son was a neatnik. If one thing spilled he’d cry. my daughter…the cats would wait under her highchair. They got second dinner that way.

Once when I was little I looked at dinner (they say it was fish or something) and said “Throw it in the garbage!”

April is just worried what they are feeding her. After watching that show on tv yesterday.

I think she did, in an April kind of way.

Not everything is said with words.

Because she can’t speak in toddler fashion yet

BTW, my mother would force-feed me at that age, whether I was hungry or not.

Actions speak louder than words…?

Well, at least Farley gets a nice snack!

Don’t worry, she will be in 10 minutes.

When my youngest granddaughter isn’t hungry, she tries feeding me her food. She can also say “up” meaning she wants out of her high chair.

She’s just helping feed Harley.

This is more dramatic. Come on, she is a princess waiting to happen. Practice makes perfect.

Carry over from yesterday’s strip.

She can’t talk, first of all. Secondly, their job is to push things off their high chair. Thirdly, judging by her expression, she doesn’t like whatever she was given which looked like dog food. At least Farley is happy.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Mom in a way April did.

April speaking would ruin all the training Farley’s been doing with her.

Pets are smart enough to take up a position under the table in advance.

How was April able to change her shirt so fast?

April’s building goodwill with Farley. It will pay off.

My son and D-i-L have this same problem. Both of their boys have just dumped their food on the floor for the dog to eat. Does beat cleaning the floor.
