His dad is almost never home.

And you, Pearl, almost got married to your grandnephew’s grandfather (and would’ve named your kids Earl Junior, Burl, Thurl, and whatever else rhymed therewith).

Not enough, if you ask me.

A man and his grandson, it’s a beautiful thing.

In some families where Dad is absent or neglectful Grandpa steps up and fills a very painful void. I am so thankful for that. If you are a Grandpa and know what I am talking about…THANK YOU!

My aunt has whiskers.

Is that really possible?

My Grandfather spent a lot of time with me, great guy1 I learned a few words as well, but none I could tell my aunt!

Could they have put today’s date somewhere other than next to Pearl’s head?

No one can replace a lost loved one, however embracing those around you certainly does help! There’s nothing like family!

I never knew my Grandfathers, wish I had.

I always thought it was “Old enough to know better, but young enough to do it again.”

Pearl is the kind of condescending, overbearing old lady that little kids abhor. Earl made the right choice in Opal, although she does have her weak points.

Pearl is the epitome of the old fat angry lady that no one can stand.

When our first grandchild was born, I claimed the ‘good’ job, I am the designated ‘BAD EXAMPLE.’ I have fought off numerous attempts of others trying to take the job away. Their reason, what the FACT, that I was having too much fun at my job.

That little urchin is turning a real Smart Aleck.

My husband and I helped raise three grands. What a joy it was. Bless you, it sounds like you might have had that kind of grandpa too.
