Meanwhile, I have heard that President Lincoln is considering giving millions to rich executives under the guise of building a railroad from Iowa to California
The traitors who stormed the Capitol on January 6th tended to wave around a couple of prevailing symbols: The flag of the Confederates (you know, the flag of the people who betrayed the United States of America). And the swastika (you know, the symbol of people who betrayed the human race.)
I got no comment about this one, so I’ll just default to the classics: america sucks; conservatives suck; capitalism sucks; and tbh democrats are worthless.
And just to rub it in a bit, the South Carolinian Covenant of Secession went on about the sanctity of chattel slavery; I imagine that Georgia’s did, too. It was very much on people’s minds. The 11th ed. of the Encyclopedia Brittanica noted that prior to the Confederate secession, the “slavery question” poisoned every debate on every subject in federal government. So much for the dainty denial that “slavery had anything to do with secession”. I guess there’s nothing new about “the big lie”.
To correct the propaganda from the Deep South, created after their loss. The propaganda created a myth about the reason for the Southern Secession. “States Rights” was made up by the defeated South. The secession was about slavery and nothing else. In the secession documents, 9 of the 11 seceding states specifically stated that slavery was the reason for secession. None of them mentioned anything about “States Rights”

History does’t necessarily repeat itself, but it does rhyme.

Florida basically suffers from what that used to call in the UK, “I’ve got mine, Jack.”
