Once selected by military for a comprehensive course in Mandarin Chinese. Promised full 4-year college level credits in just 8 months. This was in the 1950’s. Question that killed it for me was with whom would I converse in my mid-south home state? Nowadays, it would see more use. But, then, I would also need one of the other romance languages, populations shifts being what they are.

Not only did Dopey Joe and Cackles Kamala both attend that school to learn English but they both have Master’s Degrees. Believe It or … well, just Believe It! As a bonus… Jill “MILF” Biden got her Doctorate there because it was the only place that would accept her three page double spaced dissertation on the only community college in Delaware. Dr Jill is now a consultant on Dr Fauchistein’s staff and owns stock in Wuhan Whoopsie Labs LLC.

My husband could pick up a new language in a snap. Business trip to Germany? No problem. Worked for a Korean company, then worked In Greece. He would even speak in other languages in his sleep.

Learning a foreign language is impossible. The entire point of learning a language is so that it won’t be foreign anymore.

My trouble is that I can learn a language well enough to ask questions, but not well enough to understand the answers.
