He’s making his way sideways on the career ladder.

Marry Barra worked her way up to CEO, but nobody does that anymore. In fact, most times it’s highly — and actively — discouraged. If you get hired as a janitor, it’s because a janitor contractor sent you there. You will always and forever be a janitor until you go take another job as a non-janitor

He is familiar with inventory.

I hope Kris understands that he has to prove himself trustworthy of his position. As far as working his way up – I started as a secretary, had to take a REDUCTION in grade to switch to a new job and worked my way up to a much better job. I am now getting ready to retire in 2 years (will have 30 years in when I retire).
