Being broke is acceptable. Being cheap when you’ve got it and using lame excuses sucks.

And she gets a first-hand look at Marcus’s cheapness!

He’s making millions of dollars and regularly sponges off his relatives/friends who don’t have nearly as much money as he does. Now he’s sponging off an intern (= little money) he’s attracted to. He needs to grow up and/or get counseling.

“I’m too cheap to spend any of my money on my date.”

Christian Wilkins may very well be a real-world Marcus.

Afraid of commitment, are you?

Opps! Now he needs to buy her lunch or dinner!

No, he didn’t misplace his wallet, he is a moocher and a cheapskate.

And now Nicole learns the real reason Marcus isn’t involved with anybody.

It’s best she learned this on the first date, which may be the only date.

After who knows how many years, the “thrifty Marcus” storyline finally comes to roost.

Award a cookie to the person who commented yesterday that Marcus would make Nicole pay for lunch.

Nicole should have let Marcus finish his sentence. He would probably say he rarely goes on dates because he hates to spend money.

After all the times hes stiffed people (often poor Delray) with the tired lost billfold ruse, I’d think word would get around… Marcus to victim- "Hey, let’s go eat!’ Victim- "Uh, no… I can’t afford to feed you for free today…we’re not all obscenely wealthy. Shese, scam’n an intern (probably wondering where her next months rent/ration of top ramen is coming from) out of what’s gotta be about three bucks for “lunch” at the commissary… wot a manly man… (lowlife) RUN AWAY!

No, that’s why you seldom go on SECOND dates.

But it should filter out the deadbeats, like asking a beggar for money.

“It would be wrong not to pay for your meal or else the whole goat died for nothing.”

Either he really has forgotten his wallet (after all, he rarely spends money, so perhaps is not in the habit of carrying a wallete) or maybe this is a way he screens out who is interested in HIM and who’s intersted in his ca$h. Either way, I’m not giving up on Marcus … and I’m not giving up on this relationship so easily. :-)

Now that is really crap. He’s loaded and then freeloads off of others.

This scrooge should NEVER get married unless to a stinking wealthy woman who is as much a miser as he is.
