One of my cats has regular life-and-death wrestling matches with blankets on the bed and a couch. Now our newest kittie has learned this behavior from him. Hilarious to watch.
We have two Labrador retrievers that would do the same thing, but we cover the recliners, sofa, and bed completely, which makes it appear we are about to repaint the interior. We learned long ago, piecemeal doesn’t wor’.
We are parents to 12 rescue dogs and 8 rescue cats. 14 of them have full or part time house privileges. All the furniture is covered with drop cloths or old sheets. Maybe not so stylish, but inexpensive and effective for collecting hair and muddy paw residue.
Our cats do the opposite. As soon as they see me coming with fresh towels to cover furniture or tables, they’re right there to nestle in. Often they try to help me spread out the towels, “help” meaning getting in the way, but it’s so cute.

I thought it was decided he liked that end of the couch on the 24th. No point in making suggestions

I’ll admit I don’t know what JJ is going for here. Why are towels everywhere else but Luddie’s spot?

If that isn’t just like a cat!

Where there is shedding there will be hair balls

I have the opposite problem. As soon as I fold the towels, one of the cats is on it.

If you want a cat to lay on towels, leave them warm from the dryer in the laundry basket, then look at the cat and tell them “NO!”… works every time.

My dog is just the opposite. Anything soft on the floor will get laid upon. Even a pair of socks will be used as a bed.

Luddie’s spot is where the towels are not.

my cat wouldn’t lay on the sofa unless there was a tshirt or towel or something
