It’s okay, uncool dads are considerably less embarrassing than cool dads.

I love the line in “Mean Girls” when Regina’s mother says, “I’m not like a regular mom; I’m a COOL mom.” I laugh because my daughters’ friends all thought that I was a cool mom because I WASN’T a “Cool” mom. I was hip in my un-hip-ness…and I’m perfectly OK with that. Basically, I could talk to them, they could talk to me, but I didn’t try to be LIKE them. They like that (so do my daughters, for that matter).

Old, uncool, white guys are still paying the bills for lots of families. We don’t ask for much, don’t expect it. Loved by our families. Good enough.

Poor dad. Where I live at Friday was teacher’s in-service, start of school spring break. Wonder if BB is on spring break?

This is one way how having children keeps the inflated egos of celebrities “grounded”… ☺

The “uncool” dads are generally better dads than the “cool” ones.

At some point in life the words “cool dad” have to take on a new meaning.

It goes without saying.

Ah yes, I believe it was “Peter Pan” that pointed out how thoughtlessly, unintentionally cruel kids could be.

Cool is overrated. The cool people are generally kind of dumb.

Define “cool.” It’s one of those nebulous words that seems to indicate a certain quality, but it’s hard to say exactly what that it.

One dictionary definition is “marked by steady dispassionate calmness and self-control,” but that doesn’t seem quite right. Does a cool motorbike have “dispassionate calmness and self-control?”

Another definition is “fashionably hip,” but that begs the question “What is hip?”
