He is also highly toxic, so he would be tossed back anyway (unless he was fished in a place where they are becoming an uncontrollable pest)

For all the people moaning about it’s venomous lion fish and throw it back you literally don’t know what you’re talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ftgw0R2MckE

Odd, usually Wiz is intrigued by ugly and strange looking creatures, or do these same creatures have to be monsters to intrigue him?

Must’ve used an ugly lure. Ugly lures lure ugly fish. Garfield can confirm that. https://www.gocomics.com/garfield/1996/06/08

There are a lot of living things in the ocean that if someone put them in a sci-fi movie no one would believe them.

Lionfish.Stonefish look like rocks. They bury themselves in the shallows and wait for some poor chump to step on them.

Also, many decades ago in Clearwater,Florida;I noticed a huge crowd hanging around a fishing pier.

Somebody had caught a barracuda the size of King Kong.Even dead it looked like a monster.

Just because it’s ugly doesn’t mean it’s inedible. We used to throw back sea robins because they were ugly, but I’ve found out they’re actually quite tasty.
