Today members of the Wisconsin Bakers Association are running a statewide fundraiser, Pi for Peace. Proceeds from their pie sales will be donated to the Ukraine Red Cross.

One of the supermarkets in my area was selling pies (fruit or pot) for $3.14, today only.

In addition to Pi day, it’s also Albert Einstein’s brithday.

The Greeks used a base 60 number system. Alpha was one, Beta was 2, and so on. Eta was 8, Lambda was 30. 3 × 60^0 + 8 × 60^-1 + 30 × 60^-2 = 3.14167 or Gamma Eta Lambda
