How about Pirates outfielder from the 30’s named “Johnny Dickshot”. As if his given name wasn’t bad enough, his listed nickname was “Ugly”. Ugly Dickshot, quite a ring to it.
How about Boom-Boom? That name was shared by pitcher Walter William “Boom-Boom” Beck, and referred to the sound of the bat hitting the ball, and the ball hitting the outfield wall.
Then there was the strip where CB told Lucy he always hated the name “Charlie,” and that he wished he had the nickname, “Flash.” Lucy and the other girls got a good laugh out of that one.
People cannot pick their nicknames and can only get their nicknames from friends. Anyone who tries to give himself a cool nickname will regret it by getting just the opposite from his friends. This especially true for Sailors, and the nicknames are usually earned in some ignominious way.

But what sort of nickname would you give Lucy? Other players besides the pitcher had nicknames too you know.

Cementhead? Linus used that on some blockhead who insulted Janice.

Perhaps, since line drives regularly knock his clothes off, Shoeless Charlie Brown might be a good nickname for him.

Oh rats. If Charlie Brown had been given a proper nickname, he definitely would’ve struck the next batter out. Good going, Lucy… lol
