500 quatloos this goes like the Simpsons time travel skit, where Rip will run out to revert history, while TNT watches flapjacks falling from the sky and mutters about it raining again…
Reminds me of the Simpsons episode when Homer accidentally turned the toaster into a time machine, and created a time paradox in which his family were more sophisticated (even Bart was well-behaved), and Homer would have stayed there except for one thing…
I’m a bit sad Dan Thompson didn’t do more with the time-travel possibilities. Like maybe have Rip meet young Rip and inspire the kid to go into the business of breaking heads. All we got instead was some pancake jokes.

Small herbivorous creature native to the Sahara. Or a new brand of carburator. Science is up on the air over that.

I hope TNT is trying not to laugh because it’s a joke. Otherwise, it’s time to take Dr. Guinea Pig back in time.

Dear god woman, don’t do that to poor Rip, at least offer French toast!

Wow, if the ’80’s were reckless, what would we call every decade/century/epoch prior to that??

One of the great first panel recaps. I’d put it right up there with Princess Bun-head’s “I escaped somehow. Let’s go!” in THUMB WARS.

Besides, Blurting out stuff like that in a movie theatre is not going to make pancakes cease to exist.

Rip seems to be caressing Doc Hamster in the first panel, and Doc seems to be enjoying it, without thinking how degrading that it might be.

Good prank. I’m glad they resisted the urge to reboot the whole strip under the excuse of changing history.
