Another BIG LIE from the “alternative “facts’” augmented “reality” of the TrumpubliQan delusion.
Newsflash: Critical Race Theory is an obscure, arcane concept of academia only taught in advanced post-graduate courses. There is no place where this is taught in any elementary, middle or high school. More scare tactics from those afraid of FACTS and the TRUTH.
The term “critical race theory” has been co-opted by those who do not want the full, objective, factual truth of all American history to taught … the good (and yes, there is much of it), the bad and the truly ugly.
Indigenous Americans, enslaved Americans and all Americans deserved to have their history included as part of AMERICAN history in a full, complete and HONEST package.
The people who screamed obscenities and threw rocks at little Ruby Bridges in New Orleans (who was FIVE years old and trying to go to kindergarten surrounded by four big, scary men with guns) and the Arkansas Nine trying to integrate Little Rock’s Central High School don’t want their grandchildren to be taught that they screamed obscenities and threw rocks at little Ruby Bridges and the Arkansas Nine.
“Next they’ll be teaching my kid about how the superior white race slaughtered those God-damned Indians and took their land for proper white settlement!!”
The South has been teaching its kids feel-good history for 150 years. All about the war of Northern aggression against the benevolent protectors of the poor blacks they sheltered.
Republicans have “Critical Race Theory” their latest bogey man because it has “Race” in the title, which makes it perfect for stoking up racists, and their whole political strategy is to keep their base outraged by propaganda.
Same reason they use “woke.” It’s black slang, and that makes it perfect for stoking the racists.
All I know is our little parochial school in town, that almost died due to low enrollment ten years ago, had to turn people away this year because the classrooms were filled.
Are there any third, fourth, or fifth graders who would like to weigh in on this? Or teachers? Seems not one identified teacher has shared an opinion, some must have read this.
And the truth of the history of the democratic party is ugly and vicious. Do you as a democrat really want to revisit that truth? And don’t try to convince us that they’ve evolved and that it’s the republicans that have regressed.
This might be funny if it wasn’t true, the children’s writer who wasn’t allowed to read one of his most popular books about a unicorn who hid that he was a unicorn because the horses he was with didn’t like unicorns. They got to know him and when he revealed he was a unicorn they learned it is okay to be different. That used to be called kindness and acceptance, now some call it indoctrination and grooming. Some by the way are insane
Sigh. The teaching is that racism in in America’s DNA. That the USA always has and continues to completely discriminate against black folks. Or in older terms of resentment, “completely oppresses black folks”. That something needs to be done about it. Left rather open is what to do about it. (Two years ago the starting paragraph following the death of George Floyd was for immediate eye-for-eye retributi… er, justice, on the officers who did this to Floyd, as well as on a long train of those before (against Ahmed Arbery) and since (by Payton Grendon). What black foiks want has expanded since then)
How sad that we are in the place that we are now. Students must learn the real history of our country and world. As for CRT, many have no idea how challenging it can be to teach kids the most basic skills in life. Really, there’s no time for too much more than the basics.
Why don’t teachers stick to, you know, teaching? Things like reading and math? Instead of indoctrinating preschoolers into believing that they should mutilate themselves so that they can pretend to be the opposite gender?

Trump Disciples express seething hatred toward CRT.
The only problem is that they don’t know what it is.
Maybe it’s in the realm of widespread undetectable CRT teaching.

We can’t make white kids feel bad. That’s for black kids.
I’m starting to think the slang term “snowflake” refers to their color.

CRT is being taught in our schools, it’s just being taught in bits and pieces.
Frankly, CRT should be taught in schools, as well as other systems of thought.

The problem is CRT has evolved and can get a teacher fired/sued for saying ANYTHING bad about slavery, Jim Crow, KKK, lynching.
