If it’s fried, then it’s not really mush anymore, is it. Try renaming it to mush cakes, or crunchy mush.

Could be S.O.S. (Veterans of a certain age know what that is.)

Breakfast tomorrow, bacon and mush fried in the bacon grease.

Someone wasn’t cooking with gas.

Call it Polenta and everyone will want it.

Fried mush is good either sweet (with syrup) or savory (with cheese).

I love fried grits. Except now I bake them instead of frying in Crisco like Mother did…

I think I know who caters the spooks meals.

It’s been so long since I was allowed to eat fried mush that I’d forgotten it existed.   I don’t even have a suitable mold to chill the mush in.

Mom used the solid-block ice tray that came with her electric refrigerator.   (This was also used for making ice cream.)   Filled half full, the ice tray made slices about the size and shape of Spam.   (Which we hadn’t heard of at the time.   Or at least I hadn’t.)
