Tell Dakota that if she does not take that back, Marigold shall become angry and use her magic.
I bet this slang will fade away in the future, which will make this comic even funnier as we get just as confused as Phoebe.
As to be expected from Dakota.
and to think our parents’ slang is confusing
Dakota: “So, like whinny?”
(BANG, hoof-kicked in the face…)
Marigold: “Such foul language! Disgusting!”
Dakota with a bloody nose: “WHAT DID I SAY?”
Oh!! I’ve heard of this! It’s called “appealing to the younger generation”!
Jeez. We millennials are so old now…
Thinking of King’s dance which Hooty thought was a slam against his mom.
How did whinny get by the censors?
Something got lost in the translation! Good one!
“Spare me”!
It is a rare day in the Phoebeverse (sorry, Marigold). The background doesn’t change color once. I am discombobulated.
And with that, the quality of English and Unicorn language descended that little bit further!
Geez, most of these uses seem accurate to me. It’s just excessive.
What you can’t see is he’s wearing a MUSIC BAND t-shirt as well.
I’m in my 30s and I understood each and every single one of those slang terms
This strip was on fleek.
My favourite strip in a long time.
Marigold will NEVER forgive Dakota!

“ONLY UNICORNS CAN USE THAT WORD!”
No. No, she’s not.
Fun fact: Dictionary.com added “yeet” to its lexicon. It defined the word as “an exclamation of enthusiasm, approval, triumph, pleasure, joy, etc.”.
.
I’m a Gen-Xer and even I know they got it wrong. “Yeet” means to throw something.
LOL!
I’m down with that :)
At least they weren’t colorful metaphors (if anybody doesn’t get that, I’ll try to dig up a youtube link later).
LSH throughly embarassed himself yet Dakota apparently used a racial slur. Whose the reall looser here?
That last panel got me, lol
A conversation with my mom: Me: “Hey mom, what’s up? Mom: “Just chillin’. Sick threads, BTW.” Me: “Thanks. I think…”
Every once in a while, she tries to catch up on the slang. That time she was ten years off…
