How many times was I warned when I was a kid, “This is going on your permanent record!” Somewhere out there is a permanent record, detailing all the ghastly particulars of how I talked back to my teacher, and got sent to the office for detention in third grade, and such like heinous crimes. So far I’ve been getting off scot-free, but it can’t last forever.
