Every time I see Baba Mouse on the fiddle, I think of that song The Devil Went Down to Georgia, with Baba telling Old Nick to git!

It was around this time two years ago that Bill Jackson passed, August maybe. I wish I bookmarked his obituary.

It may have been a re-run, but I don’t remember every panel, especially today’s. Such beautiful artwork, it’s worth a second (or third) look. Toadstools, the moon, lightning bugs, the robber mice dancing with the toads, the backup singers, the accompanist to Baba Mouse, the tambourine, the color of the sky and the grass, and the prints of their clothing. Most of all, the sense of unfettered joy as they enjoy the summer night. What’s not to like?

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: I’d like to thank Thomios for a most enjoyable kibble banquet. And a special shout out to his descendant Tommy for his wonderful apple tart dessert.

The Queen: I have to wonder about that, too.

Agnes-Ata: We’ll never tell!

Violet-Ifa: Tomorrow Tommy and I will go to the Cosmo’s Garden and from there use the space time anemone to return him to his own time. I’ll accompany him back to 2022.

Tommy: Great! I’m looking forward to meeting another new old friend.

Thomios: Before you go, I’d like you to take this jar of Xanadu honey with you as a token of our appreciation.

Tommy: Thank you. We have nothing like it at home.

The Queen: And now it’s time for clean up and then naps!

This is such a wonderful scene. Everyone looks like they’re having such a great time, especially Natasha being thrown in the air and Alice going to town on that tambourine.

I am looking at this same scene on my coffee mug right now. My favorite among my BCN collection.

My favorite… even got the mug. In my house its the forbidden mug, no one is allowed to touch it.

911: Do you need police, fire, or Ems?

Caller: A garden hose. There’s a big ole squalling bunch of critters outside my window. Sounds like they’re having either a fight or a party. I cain’t tell which with all the peeping and howling going on.

911: Has anyone been hurt?

Caller: Not yet, but there will be if you don’t do something. I have to get up a 5 a.m. to go work at the Jiffy Mart.

911: Alright, we’ll send animal control and the fire department.

Caller: Fine, could you send the Orkin man as well to take care of all the little flying critters as well. They seem to have been the ones that started all the ruckus, them and those dang little frogs.

Kawaii!!!!. I hope Georgia had as much fun making this as I did reading it.

I don’t know why I didn’t notice the four tiny microphones for the singers or that the guitarist is sitting on a (giggle) toadstool the first five times I perused the strip. Also, thanks to all who mentioned that the round thing to the right is a tambourine.

A Peeper Party.

The only thing that the Peep Toads do is peep, right? Its the only sound they make?

One of the kids got a package today & gave the kitties the most important part: the BOX!

Not sure if there will anything of the box left by morning. Because, of course, a box is a wonderful thing, full of adventure!
