Charlie Brown, test the market…if that is what they are paying, that is what they are paying!

It’s like offering to do it for $27.50, but only being offered $2.50 today

Even though it’s a year later, Charle Brown has those steadily depressing, low down mind messing working at the car wash blues.

Wow! He’s expensive! Back in the 70s, when this was first published, I got one dollar for washing dad’s car.

If I remember my summer job in 1975 paid a minimum wage of $2 an hour. So if Charlie is only going to charge $5 that means he will wash the car for 2 and a half hours! That must be a really dirty car!

You get what you pay for. Well, sometimes. Other times you get a photo of what you thought you were paying for. Blast you, eBay…

It is my understanding that the purchasing power of the dollar was huge in the early ’70s. You could feed a family of 4 for a week on $20. So $5 for a car wash seems a bit steep.

If the glove compartment clean out goes well, Charlie Brown could grow up to be like Marie Kondo.

How would a little guy like Charlie wash a whole car? What is his height, 4’7"?

I can get my glove compartment cleaned out just by leaving my car unlocked overnight in my neighborhood.

Ask for $0.68 Charlie Brown. That would be equivalent to $5.00 today.

$5.00 is way too high for one kid washing one car in 1975!
