“Cramps” were my problem. Never knew about them until I was 14. School counselor explained that I had been used to riding a bus to school while I was in the children’s home. Now I was walking in the cold and that might be effecting me. Step- mother was no help at all ‘cause she never had them and couldn’t understand my grief. ( She was reared down south where it was never that cold….. at that time.)
This story is a lot different from when Greg Evans had Luann have her first period. He didn’t/couldn’t even say “period” it was “(.)” I hope no one has been offended by the frank language of this story.

When I was growing up in the early 70s, we still had belts. You’d hook the pads to the belt using clips. Pads with adhesive were just coming into use.
