Do people really do that? If it’s just Earl, the daughter and grandson, what’s the point? And, if there were more people, who’s to say stickers won’t get changed? Just make a will or a trust.
Always found it interesting that people will stand in line for hours to pay 3x $ (often full retail) at an “estate sale” than what they would pay at a regular yard/garage sale.
yeah, my grandmother did this. She had 6 kids and a zillion grandkids, greats, etc. It was so there would be no fuss or fighting after about anything. And in her later years, anything you gave her, she put you name back on it. So it helped reduce junk, lol! She started this early on (in her 80s?) and lived to be 103. Btw, there was no fuss or fighting about anything!
Every holiday I take one item to my daughter from her childhood that I have held onto that will make her smile. She’s old enough to decide if she wants to keep these things or not. If nothing else, I have less to deal with here, and she gets a little trip down memory lane. She also knows to allow my closest friends to have something of mine when my time goes. She knows who shouldn’t get anything valuable. The best part is I told her I hide cash in my stuff so she will have to actually go through everything, just in case. I don’t hide cash, but who knows what I might do in the future?

so when Opal’s gone, is Earl going to be sent to an assisted living center?

I am surprised that he isn’t checking the back of his head, or does he think she is just joking?

Does the sticker contain the name of an old folks home?

Do they only have one daughter and one grandson? It shouldn’t be that hard to figure out who to leave things to.

Do your survivors a favor, most of the stuff belongs in a dumpster. I’ve moved, I know! Probably not Earl though

As it is said wives live longer than husbands, is that sticker wasted?
hariseldon59 about 2 years ago
Just as long as Opal isn’t planning to leave Earl to her sister.

It won’t be necessary for you, Earl. She’ll make sure you go first.

You just had to leave yourself open to that one, huh, Earl!

Without her to keep him on the path of righteous, she should leave him along with her other stuff to Good Will. Or better, to The Salvation Army,

My wife’s grandmother did that. And her Uncle took everything valuable before anyone else arrived.
