3 months back I had one get caught, flip out of my hand and get stuck in my stomach. Had to yank it back out and a dozen stitches later… but as I keep telling my wife, “chicks dig scars.”
I am a medical coder and specialize in the trauma cases. Yep, those devices lead to some of the most gruesome consequences. Cut and mangled fingers that require the fixing of skin, arteries, tendons, muscles, bones…you name it. Those are the charts my colleagues skip over because they’re so super complicated to code….and so I’m the one that usually winds up doing them! It’s difficult enough being the coder…let alone the surgeon…let alone that patient!
