I think we can guess that Lee is a regular here.

I feel deprived! When I was here age I could only check out six books at a time. I checked them out on a Friday and would have them all read by Monday.

I feel like the typical city library branch would be lucky to /have/ 35 books on fashion.

That’s funny for a comic strip: reading is so much fun, she’s finished reading a cartfull of books before her mom or dad can take her to the library again.

Meanwhile, In real life though, you are only allowed to take out five books, at a time, in our local library.

I can identify with Lee. I was a total bookworm when I was in elementary school. The local branch library had a limit of 5 books checked out at a time for kids, but my mom assured them that I would typically read 5 kid books in just one day (it’s not like they were 300-page novels), and she didn’t want to have to drive me to the library four or five times every week, so could they please make an exception? So on each weekly visit I was allowed to check out as many as I could carry, stacked up to my chin, which was about 20—and I did read them all, every week. (I think sometimes the librarian spot-checked when we returned them by asking me about one of the books.) IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO COOL IF I COULD HAVE USED A CART! :-) The library was always a happy place for me. Looks like Lee has gotten to know another very understanding and supportive librarian.

We have a maximum of 10 items for three weeks, but we can extend it two times.

Behind here as I read the sundays on my tablet yesterday but I found this one adorable, both for the two just casually spending time together.. and because I relate to Lee IMMENSLEY here. While i’ve never been a fashion kid I was a library kid and that kid, teenager and now adult who hauled 80 pounds of books out and only didn’t use a cart because I hadn’t thought of it. It’s genius. I throughly use my library’s online services and only haven’t used phsycial as much (and as much means not ordering most of a series and binge reading it so I have 40 volumes of one piece on my shelf) because i’m planning to move soon.
