And coming from Her Catness, that’s no idle threat.

Yesterday, Pebbles and Cindy (tortoise shell kitten and gray kitten) were sitting in the kitchen window. I approached to pet Pebbles. And Cindy stayed put and let me pet her too! Progress! She closed her eyes in a blissful way and made no attempt to flee. And I didn’t try to pick her up (didn’t want to press my luck). Later (I don’t remember how much later), they were still in the window together and once again, Cindy let me pet her. She still usually runs from me, but at least she’s getting better! No progress on Panther though.

I need some opinions here. I still have Annie in the big (extra large) dog crate because when I had her spayed, she was vaccinated too. She’s supposed to get the booster on her feline viruses vaccine on Monday. Then I have to make my decision. Do I turn her loose outside in my garage (I’m sort of leaning that way, yet hating it too because it makes me feel like I’m as bad as the person who dumped her in the first place) or do I turn her loose in the house? Should I return her to the dog crate but leave the door to the crate open so she can leave it? Keeping her shut in the dog crate after her visit to the vet is NOT an option. Is it possible I could tame her at least a little if I kept her in the house, or am I just inviting trouble if I do that? I don’t want to go back to shutting her in one room because I saw how that worked before, with her bouncing off the walls. I love Annie even though she hates me. I want to do what is best for her. What is best for her?

My contractor called this morning (7:00 – I don’t get up that early!) My windows are here! He can put them in tomorrow! Tomorrow is my birthday! What a great birthday gift! Can you tell that I’m excited? Great timing to have the windows come while I’m on vacation!

Great poem, Lily! Short and to the point. All speeches and performances should be so.

But did Lily really need her notes to recite it? Or was the paper just for dramatic effect?

Good poem. When Lily wants applause, you had better darn well clap if you know what’s good for you! On another note, saw two butterflies, Three dragonflies, three robins, two chickadees, and two rabbits while out walking today.
