And when Fritzi lived with her Aunt Bathsheba, Fritzi’s boyfriend was Solomon Smith.

This makes me wonder if there has been an unbroken chain of nieces and aunts for millions of years, what happened to all those mothers / sisters to the aunts? And (B), looking to the future, why doesn’t Nancy have a sister who will grow up to become an aunt?

The comic strip Fritzi Ritz first appeared on October 9 1922 so the character of Fritzi Ritz will be one hundred years old next month.

Labor Day strips are the best, and this is the best.

Is that true. If so, I would like to get that book. Hopefully it will get into the Jerry Scott Nancy area. That’s the one I remember from my childhood.

Has any comic strip ever produced the quality of Labor Day strips that OJ has with “Nancy”? :)

I laughed out loud at this one. I love fake histories of comic strips.

Brilliant strip, yes, but I also thank OJ for reminding me how I’m looking forward to Zippy The Pinhead artist Bill Griffith’s graphic biography of Nancy creator Ernie Bushmiller, which has ben delayed at least a couple of times but is supposed to be for sale in February 2023.

In panel 3: Fritizi Ritz looks like a 1920’s version of Sally Forth.
