Surprised HER, not HIM. “Him” bees don’t sting.

Speaking of surprises, my formerly feral Cindy really surprised me just a little while ago. I was watching TV in my recliner and along came Cindy and she climbed onto my lap and started purring! She was rolling around on my lap, just so happy. I had to do a double take to make sure it was really her and not Molly who was on my lap. No, it wasn’t Molly. It was Cindy! I am over the moon!

The dog my family had when I was a kid once caught a bee, in his mouth. He regretted it. My mom was a nurse. She opened up his mouth and removed the stinger.

That is so cute and precious!

Only time I ever got stung by a bee:

I was standing on a downtown corner waiting for the light to change and suddenly felt a sharp sting on my fingertip. It was one of those bees that don’t die after stinging, as it then flew in my face again and again, very aggressive, trying to sting me. It followed me down the street, with me freaking out and waving my arms and yelling. I’m sure everyone around thought I was a raving lunatic.

A neighbor told how her son, when he was little, stuck out his tongue at a bee. The bee stung his tongue. She said she’ll never forget trying to hold his tongue still so she could pull out the stinger (poor kid was screaming, of course).

Cats aren’t the only ones who need forever homes.

Ouch! Poor Oliver. :( At least it wasn’t a murder hornet. I’ve heard those things are really nasty. On another note, saw a junco, three chickadees, a Wilson’s warbler, two robins, and a dragonfly while out walking today.
