When I was a kid, you would rake all the leaves into a big pile on the street, and a vacuum truck from the city would suck’em all up. We would ride thru the piles on our bikes, scattering them all over. One guy on the street got fed up, and laid 3 concrete blocks under his pile. Bobby hit those suckers and went flying into the pile. His bike got messed up, but he was laughing his a** off ! Homeowner got fined.

Years ago in my apartment complex, a friend was playing around and drove his car over a long pile of leaves that had been gathered in the grassy area between the sidewalk and the street (devil strip?). I yelled, “There’s a hydrant!” If I didn’t warn him he would have hit the hydrant and totaled his car.
