The way Puck is jumping on the leaves makes me wonder if there’s a foot under the sheets moving around. It was great entertainment back when I had cats.
First, you need to find out whether the dangerous leaves outside are fabric. If it turns out that they are not, then you need to find a way of determining which leaves are real and which are fabric. And finally, can you be sure that fabric leaves inside are not also dangerous?Hurry! Doom approaches!
Out of Strip Update since I JUST started following Georgias sociaL: we not only got some art of iggy and orta zela (Georgia’s two more recent cats), but an ominous hint there a comin. Get hyped.
For a second I read that as “brother-in-law-cat”. I need sleep, apparently. But how can I rest easy knowing our savior is being bested by those wicked leaves?
Very dramatic, Elvis! This is indeed a serious threat. If the leaves have gotten in the house, who knows what they might do next, on whom they might fall? Puck is going to need a lot of help.
Today marks 4 years since my Max (avatar) crossed the Bridge. He was lazy and not too bright but he was the sweetest cat I’ve ever had. He did like fall and winter because then he could sit in my lap. For some reason he wouldn’t sit in my lap when I was wearing shorts. But if I had jeans on, he would rush to jump up on me the second I sat down. I will always miss my baby. I know I shouldn’t say this, but of all the cats I’ve had in my life, he was my favorite.
Goldie and Burt, the Voices of Reason, but I think the BCN boys need a bit of empirical evidence … I’m hoping The Woman brings a real autumnal leaf into the house to show the difference between ‘fabric’ and The Fearsome Foliage of Death-Destruction-and-D**M.
O.T. – Prayer request for my cousin Floyd in FL. they found a blood clot and 2 growths in his neck. he’s on blood thinners and should have the results of the biopsies tomorrow. he’s 64 and smoked since was 13 so i’m scared it’s cancer. my heart update was much better news — while there is some calcium build-up, the arteries are not clogged so the blood flow is good. just need to take cholesterol meds to get the ldl under co. ntrol. thank you
And the ongoing saga of the comic fans versus Lee Enterprises continues. I would mark these “OT”, but I feel that they are on topic since it’s the loss of BCN and other comics for me and fans near me that got this started. So… I sent another nasty e-mail to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch telling them that I will no longer buy or support the Post or the other 2 Lee Enterprises owned newspapers near my area until their travesty of a decision to gut the comics pages and puzzles is reversed. It may not do me any good but I’m not one to stay quiet about these things. Interestingly, I noticed in the last 3-4 editions of the Post-Dispatch a notice reminding readers how to respond to the changes along with more letters from disenchanted readers. I actually think the editorial folks at this particular paper realize how disappointed many of us readers are, but their hands may be tied at this point. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I have just BEGUN to FIGHT!! Sorry I’m long-winded and thanks for letting me rant once again.

Cats who have always lived inside are so naive.

I think of Meimei (my avatar) and her reaction to her first leaf-fall every time Puck does battle with the leaves.

Puck will have to destroy that entire sheet before he can relax. What were the people thinking?

How about a chorus of ‘The Autumn Leaves’?
Kitty Katz about 2 years ago
English Lyrics by Johnny Mercer: Autumn Leaves
The falling leaves
Drift by the window
The autumn leaves
Falling off the trees
…….But now I see
Those little invaders
Are now inside
They are so bold!…….
I wish they’d go away!
Back where they belong
Raked up in piles
Inside it’s just so wrong!…….
I won’t miss them at all, no I won’t
When autumn leaves start to fall
…….
I wish they’d go away!
Back where they belong
Raked up in piles
Inside it’s just so wrong!
I won’t miss them at all, no I won’t
When autumn leaves start to fall
No, I won’t miss them at all, in September
When autumn leaves start to fall!

Try to remember the kind of September
When wind was squalling and leaves were falling
Try to remember the kind of September
When Puck stood up and found his calling
Try to remember the kind of September
With Puck an unmellow, brave li’l fellow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then holler, “bravo!”

Does anyone remember the tear-jerker short story by O. Henry, The Last Leaf? It’s in public domain, and you can find the full text through Google.
