I remember watching the wedding of Charles and Diana. She called him “Philip Charles Arthur George”. I don’t know why I’ve always remembered that.

I cannot stand old gnarly Charlie!

Things didn’t work out so well for the first two King Charles. Especially the first one.

Lets hope King Charles III has a better go than number one, who was parted form his head.

Well he’s waited a long time for it. I saw a meme last week of him at around 4 years old at his mother’s coronation looking bored and the caption said he’d have a 70 year wait until his own coronation.

He was going to call himself George VII, but he must have changed his mind.

Yep. The bar is pretty high. I remember when he married Diana, the priest mixed his name up and said Charles Arthur Phillip George. —-I remember this because when I got married the same year, my priest called my husband Dave. His name was Gary.

He won’t be king long. They have way to much hidden that’ll be disclosed because the queen kept the secrets hidden and the family close.

I’ve always felt sorry for Charles. So much structure around him, so much expected of him since childhood. Couldn’t marry the love of his life…..had to have a “proper wife.” And we know how well that worked. I wish him the best.

The bar is high for a guy who inherited a monarchy that serves no actual function?

At one time, the usual fate of many kings, as presented by Shakespeare:

Arlo isn’t wrong. I’d have gone with King Arthur.

Through all the goings-on in the last week there’s been one little annoying thing bothering me. I do so wish that Charles and Lady Dianna could have made a real “go” of it. We would now have a King and Queen of England….would not that have been something.

And it looks like yet another king missed the chance to name one of the sons Valiant.

And I was kind of hoping Harry would give up his princely title, leaving him to be Harry, Formerly Known as Prince.

That’s what I was thinking, Arlo; that or Ethelred.

Charles will be presiding over the dissolution of what remains of the British Empire. Scotland and Ireland will be first, especially since they want to remain with the EU.

I remember the word order getting mixed when he and Di took their vows.

If, in the odd chance that it should happen, Prince Harry (Harry sounds a lot like Henry) could take the name King Henry IX !! Yeah, when pigs fly and there’s a living Pope Peter II.

That’s probably why he chose to be King George. The bar is pretty low for Kings George.
