Though you can’t see it here, he swished the soup around in the ladle before taking a sip and then again in his mouth before spitting it out.

Is this an incentive for beating the opposition and eating their food?

And the leftovers will be used as swill in the royal dungeons.

So THAT’S what smells like cabbage and feet!

This is the sort of chow that required all that latrine digging soldiers are supposed to do.

You know he is going to stick that same spoon that was in his mouth back into that pot. I have noticed, now that I do watch some TV shows, that during a regular show (I have never watched a cooking show) they do that all the time. People on TV also brush their teeth, spit, and don’t rinse the sink. Rarely do they close a door after entering a room, either.

Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard Hospital chow is mostly on the tasty side. It’s the regular dinning hall chow that feed enlistment personnel that is truly questionable. Ya didn’t see the king eating out of that pot. Rodney would be on the rack if he feed the king from of that pot. Speaking from many years of experience with all five branches of the service (foot soldier, archers, pole man, calvary, and cooks)

You must have to work very hard to make food taste that Bad…

That’s what I expect with Army chow, Navy always has the better chow esp Boomers and Flattops!

This one made me laugh.

Don’t know if it’s changed since I retired from service (in ’95) but the very few times I found myself at an Army chow hall I was greatly underwhelmed. Not that Air Force chow halls were fantastically outstanding, just very noticeably better.

But then taste is subjective for one thing and it could be I was just unlucky with the few Army chow halls I ate at for another. But I did expect better of Ft Myer given where it’s at. I didn’t expect as much from the others I had occasion to visit.

Navy wasn’t too bad but by the time I ate in one of their chow halls I had enough rank to eat in the Chiefs mess. That may have had something to do with the good quality… 8^)
