I enjoyed something on one particular night, and my mom believed it was my favorite and made it for years every time I came home to visit. I didn’t have the heart to tell her it wasn’t a favorite. It had turned out very well on that first attempt to make it, but never was that good again. Sometimes you’re afraid to tell a loved one they aren’t doing you the favor they think they are.
I used to make a tuna casserole for myself that I really liked, with pasta, onions, green peppers, and a can of cheese soup. Then they changed the formulation of the cheese soup and it just wasn’t the same, I haven’t made it in decades now. I hate it when they do that.
My mom and dad BOTH cook. And they’re both very good cooks. I hate that the dad just sits on his butt and reads the newspaper, does nothing to help out, but still has the audacity to say: “okay, you can make this meal for me, but just this once.”

It’s hardly a surprise if he knows it’s coming… PUT IT ON HIS PIZZA!

Surprise tuna! The worst kind of tuna.

Good thing I have seafood allergies. Otherwise, I’d suffer from tuna surprise.

I adapted my tuna noodle surprise to use chicken for my non-tuna eater.

Some things are your favorite, and other things are your favorite because you love someone.

Tuna surprise might be okay but they usually include peas with it and those are an abomination in any recipe.

Any dish with the word surprise in its name is suspect. It’s second cousin to mystery meat.

I don’t claim to be a fancy cook but I made a tuna dish with Hamburger Helper for pasta and canned tuna instead of ground beef. I thought it was good.
