My now neighbor hit me with a ball and broke my nose in high school. He doesn’t remember it but I sure remember the dr. putting a long needle up my nose twice then using a popsicle stick pushing my nose back into place.Slept with my motorcycle helmet and shield on for several days to make sure I didn’t knock my nose out of place and have to go through that again.
Are they still allowing sports and other things in school that can hurt kids?? (Lets not talk about how dangerous the masks they MAKE them wear have a number of carcinogens in them)
I don’t remember dodge ball being that rough. Maybe because I never got hit that hard. Whenever the ball came towards me, I could catch it and throw it back. This was elementary school in the 50’s.

Harm can come to a young lad. (Words to that effect from The Goon Show.)

I enjoyed dodge ball (elementary school early 1960’s). The dangerous one was “Circle Soccer”!
