I was raised on margarine, Miracle Whip, Log Cabin and three-day old bread. Fresh fruit and veggies were a two-months out of the year thing.

But they will eat it anyway if there’s no real butter available.

How can he tell, his bite of toast didn’t even hit the melting pad of what ever that yellow stuff is.

Betraying my age, Many years ago when Budweiser had the slogan “Beechwood Aged”, I had the chance to tour the Budweiser Brewery in LA. They had this tank that was perhaps 8 ft in diameter and maybe 20 ft long, fed by 10" pipes on either end. The guide told us there was Beechwood in the tank. Their aging process was however long it took the beer to flow through this tank. Marketing, ya gotta love it.

Pluggers can believe it’s not butter; they’re just shocked to be finding out they’ve been duped all of these years and that margarine is actually unhealthy and they would have been better off using real butter all thrse years.

That stuff will kill you or cause cancer (maybe on the cancer). Real butter and/or bacon fat in cast iron, the BEST way to toast bread!

More than once I’ve made butter in a blender. Extra good. Plus Buttermilk as a byproduct.

Kinda like TCBY (This Can’t Be Yogurt), liked the stuff but, yeah, it was yogurt.

As a kid I remember ButterUp, from Lov-it Dairy. It was a combination of butter and corn oil. Much better tasting than margarine. With more fats and less water, it also behaved like butter for cooking and baking. I was disappointed when it faded from dairy cases in the mid-70s.
