Yeah, some folks get carried away with different and sometimes bizarre seasonings for a turkey, very few of them, in my opinion, are good, eg., ghost pepper rubbed.
If he so much as alludes to pitchfork fondue with a whole turkey, insist the apparatus be setup on the front sidewalk. Easy access for the fire department. Plus, you’ll have all the video from the neighborhood doorbell cameras.
What a dysfunctional family!!! Everybody knows, if it were normal, Dad’s turkey would be deep-fried after being shot to the moon and caught on the way back down (the Crankshaft method). Mom’s “turkey” would be a quinoa-tofu mixture molded and shaped into the likeness of an actual turkey.
Turkeys are apparently in short supply this year. It is husband’s favorite. I normally cook a full turkey for the two of us for Thanksgiving and we eat leftovers for a week or so and then freeze the leftover leftovers and eat it over the rest of the year.
Normally we buy a fresh turkey, but even frozen ones are not being sold at local supermarkets nor are turkey breasts He is upset that we will be buying package of deli turkey as that is all he sees offered.

We are hoping it will not be so cold that I can’t smoke the turkey this year. Cold enough, and it would not be done until Sunday.

I was thinking about having some of that deep-fried turkey this year. I decided it’s too much trouble to heat up a bucket of 10w40 for a TV dinner.
brick10 about 2 years ago
Adam’s consequence would be that the only thing he was allowed to eat was that black licorice turkey until it was gone.

Invite them to the “DD” Ranch over at Day by Day. Samantha can demonstrate how she puts deep fried turkeys into orbit.
