Whenever I have to walk through the parking lot of a shopping mall at this time of year, it’s almost like I’m leading a parade of vehicles by the time I leave it.
I don’t even try. If I have to go to the mall when it’s seasonally busy, I just drive straight to the farthest corner—there are usually at least a few spaces out in the boonies, and a little walking is a good thing. 2 years ago, when I was working, I walked a mile each day, and even now that I’m retired, I try to get in a mile 2-3 times a week, plus lots of walking while doing house- and yard-work.
Tesla obtained the “never used” portion of a local mall’s parking lot and installed twelve charging stations. Now a customer can charge while they shop.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EACH OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. AND DON’T FORGET TO COLLECT ALL THE HUGS YOU CAN BECAUSE SOMETIMES LIFE DOESN’T OFFER SECOND CHANCES.
I went shopping on Black Friday once. . .ONCE!!!!! Went out yesterday looking for a lampshade—what a mess! Road construction, crazy or angry or impatient people—in cars- – -lethal, donchaknow. . .Found just what I wanted online last night. . .
I worked the Texas Renaissance Festival. My brother decided to help a really drunk person find their car. All they remembered was that it was parked next to a yellow van. It was after hours, in the dark. He actually drove them around in the ENORMOUS parking lot for a few minutes before he realized it was hopeless.
There was no strict closing time so people wandered about in Parkinglotland for hours sometimes. Eventually, Security would come by and collect the “leftovers”.
Stay home and enjoy your holiday. Happy Thanksgiving.
The few times we actually go to a mall, we’ve taken to using the valet parking if available. Less of a hassle and likely costs less than the fuel I waste wandering around the lots.

I remember those days when the shopping malls were that crowded. But those days are long gone.

You couldn’t get me within 10 miles of a Shopping Center or a Mall-Wart for the next week or so!

Is that still a thing? I haven’t done holiday mall shopping in many years, maybe not this century.

In 1,000 years, when all shopping has been done online for long enough that real shopping malls are a historical footnote, this could be a thing.

Definitely, reminds me of Disney Land. Get in line, for a line to wait for a line to a line for a ride. …never more.

They could just bulldoze the vacant stores and have plenty of parking.

I first went to Disneyland when I turned 16, but I hadn’t started driving yet. I couldn’t wait to ride/drive Autopia. Meh.

Tomorrow it’d be wise to take a bus, cab or über to a shopping mall, if you decide to go. Wear a mask.
