Charles Schultz also created at cat named Faron in 1961 who was Frieda’s lap cat. Faron only came out on a few strips, as Sparky could get the right expression for a cat in the cartoon.

If you go outside tonight you can see the birthday candles twinkling. The angels lit them.

My daughter had a bunch of scans today. Hopefully surgery tomorrow. We think they are trying to get her in better shape before it. She lost a whole lot of blood. She was in pretty good spirits tonite.

It’s wonderful to see all of the tributes to Charles Schulz and Peanuts from the various cartoonists. So many imaginative ways of paying tribute to him. So much creativity used to incorporate Peanuts characters and story lines into their daily strips,

Happy Birthday to Charles Schulz. He was truly one of the greats.

Driving home from work last night (around 11:20 PM), I had to pull over 3 times to let police cars go by. After a few miles of driving, I found them again, out near the high school. There was a fire truck there too. Word is there was an accident involving a semi and I don’t know how many other vehicles. If it had happened just 5 minutes or so later, I would have been there to see it happen (or worse, I could have been in it). i hope nobody was seriously injured or killed.

My neighbor is taking me back to the Whiteside mine today, this time we should see the bats that were missing this summer. And I have the app for rock identification, hope it works. He and his wife and I are “arguing” about Fred’s vet bill – it was minimal and they have given me so much help including he has saved me hundreds doing plumbing, electrical and other odd jobs for which he always refuses payment, he just likes to help people and stay busy. His next project is to replace the broken locking mechanism in the doors my 2009 CRV for just the cost of the parts. The dealer would add at least $300 in labor. She broke her fingers trying to get her dogs off Fred and needed surgery and has no use of her left hand for 6 weeks. Fred just needed antibiotics. I understand they feel responsible, and technically they are, but I paid the small bill and it’s done. She has threatened to put money into my slot machine next time we are at the casino.

Kitten update: Last night I took up the dish that had a few crumbles of wet kitten food I give to mama cat. I happened to have the piglet / Siamese looking kitten in my hand at the time. I set the dish and kitten on the counter and it stuck its nose into the dish. I spooned up and remainder of the food and it ate it! Then I put it down next to the dry kitten food and it at it, too. I tried a few of the other kittens but the weren’t interested yet. And, one of them had discovered the little litter box! I’m going to post a few pics of the kitten eating the food on imgur.

Chesney, just appreciate the tribute to a great artist. May you live as long as Snoopy has.

You need to tell Chesney that Sparky also created a very tasty-looking appetizer named Woodstock.

Annie’s hair looks especially fluffy today. Pretty little girl.

I’m really enjoying all these great tributes to Peanuts and Charles Schulz. Yes, Chesney, this is definitely something to be celebrated. I remember checking out “The Snoopy Festival” from my Elementary school library. Had a good time reading that book. On another note, saw eight juncos while out walking today.
