We don’t know yet if it is just all a dream of Phoebe’s or not.
This unicorn is one of Dana’s that’s actually creepy aside from the green unicorn with the Medusa snake horn that turned Marigold to stone.
And robot Marigold was kind of creepy with those emotionless blue eyes.
I’m glad robot Marigold is gone because she may have become attached and possessive of Phoebe and she could have become like Chucky the robot doll or that new andriod girl M3gan.
thankfully Dana hasn’t created any truly scary unicorns that are as frightening as Sombra in MLP or the like.
Semantics come into play here. Instead of being the Unicorn of Christmas Present (meaning the contemporary state of the holiday), he is the unicorn who expects a present.

I knew the Unicorn of Christmas Past wasn’t Marigold. Marigold doesn’t have a curvy horn.

At first I thought they were all going to be Marigold, but it looks like that’s not what’s going on.
I didn’t even notice the design of the previous unicorn was different until Averagemoe pointed it out.
