I wish hubby had a nice beard growth, but it takes about a week before there’s a reasonable bit of hair on his chin and it’s so scattered, it doesn’t look nice. And very blond hair, so hardly noticeable if he doesn’t shave for a day or two.
I make public apology here for the use of “till” instead of ’til, as it should have been. Thank you, Grammar Enthusiasts, for not going berzerker on me.
Every time a started a beard my penultimate year of college my girlfriend complained about it scratching. When I came back from a summer internship with it well established, it had been her idea all along.
I said I was going shave off my well trimmed beard and mustache – my wife asked me not to. I think she just appreciates it covering up part of my ugly old face.
I am fine with husband having a beard or not. I think once he started to let it grow and decided it was too uncomfortable (in over 40 years). For the past 20 or so years we been 18th century reenactors, so he cannot have a beard as only sailors would have same then.

From age 18 to age 27, I put my razor down Sept 1, and left it until sometime around mid-March.
Then I got married…….
