cram some marshmallows in your pockets – you’re gonna need the padding

I’ve never ice skated. But Zoe being able to stand and move (very unsteady) without falling is impressive. For her first time on the ice.

I used to take figure skating. Zoey should consider herself lucky. To my coach warming up meant running until you were out of breath before getting on the ice

Went on a double date and we went ice skating. At least the 3 of them did. I couldn’t even stand on the ice without my ankles meeting. (If you get the picture.)

I skated, I fell, I landed on my rear.

Is Zoe too old to be a beginner and become good enough to compete in the Olympics?

I noticed a tribute to Peanuts in one little girl’s shirt.

I use to love ice skating when I was a kid. I was pretty good thanks to taking ballet, my ankles were stronger then. If I try now I’d fall on my butt!

I have taught “Learn To Skate” classes. Beginner moves are marching and learning how to fall. This class looks pretty advanced….lunges and spirals. Oh well, I’m off to the rink myself now for early morning skate.

No helmets? Aren’t they beginners, although it doesn’t look that way, except Zoe? Isn’t it strange to have Zoe there in first place?

Remember walking about a mile to a local skating rink in the winter. We’d go up in the evenings for a couple hours after dinner or on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Warming house smelled of old wet chewed wood.

I am with Zoe except for being in the ice rink, with skates on trying to skate.

I started with skates that had double runners. My ankles were WAY too weak…(still are!)

    Hot chocolate should do it.

I skated frequently as a kid in the winter months. Also loved to get hot chocolate. I wasn’t great, but had a lot of fun! Did some skating as an adult, too.

I broke my arm the first time I ice skated. That was the end of that. It was my cousin’s bday. we were supposed to go to his party afterwards, I went to the ER instead.

The local skating rink was the first place I ever had Dr. Pepper as a kid. I don’t skate often, but when I do I’d still rather have Dr. Pepper than hot chocolate.

I broke my arm the first time I went skating. I hung on to the bar after that. It was my cousin’s birthday. My brother went to the party. My parents and I went to the hospital..

Yeah, maybe Zoe should have been taught how to skate before signing her up for figure skating…

Sadly I can’t skate myself. I have flat feet & weak ankles.
