The only thing that image is missing are the adults behind the “out of order” sign crowding the stairway and shouting obscenities at each other.

Political Science by Will Rogers:1. I don’t make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts.2. There’s no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you.3. Every time we see a bridegroom we wonder why she ever picked him, and it’s the same with public officials.4. The trouble with practical jokes is that very often they get elected.5. Our public men are speaking every day on something, but they ain’t saying anything.

The staircase to the Theory of Political Science is “OUT OF ORDER”? Oh, well, if you tried the other one you’d end up knowing what it’s REALLY all about (eventually).

Had to teach political science a few times. (My field is history. But at small colleges one must wear different hats… Sadly the political scientists who wrote the textbook didn’t have degrees in history.) The first chapter of the text was dynamite! They promised to look at the both theory and practice and explain the difference! And they forgot their promise real fast… Just like real politicians.

Two words which should never be written or uttered in the same sentence, “political” or “Science”. Quoting Neil deGrasse Tyson “science doesn’t lie”.

The only thing I see is the “Left” pot calling the “Right” kettle black and vice versa. If there is any “science” to this political circus I can’t see it. A pandemic on both their houses.

I used to wonder how the word ‘Science’ ever became attached to a very illogical process. I later realized it was short for science fiction, something that has no logical boundaries whatsoever.

I guess I’m glad UCSC dropped the ‘science’ from my degree in ‘politics’. Even though the distinction in practice was imperceptible.

There’s a lot of political theory out there. Trouble is, politicians are trained as lawyers. Not so much interested in improving the system as gaming it.

Well, the FIRST thing that’s wrong with this particular political cartoon is that the “name” on the sign is an oxymoron…

…just like “military intelligence” and “intelligent design”…

I remember when I was in college back in the 1960s. I majored in electrical engineering. Some of my friends majored in political science (which I consider to be an oxymoron) and they wondered why they had such a difficult time getting a job after graduation.

Uncle Sam took care of that for many of them: their new job title was “Private.”

I am glad to see that we have gone to an all-volunteer force since then. It is better for the country and better for the services. Nevertheless, I think everyone should be required to go through boot camp whether they decide to go onto a military career or not.

Political Science by Will Rogers II: 6. If all politicians fished instead of speaking publicly, we would be at peace with the world.7. If you ever injected truth into politics you have no politics.8. A fool and his money are soon elected.9. If we got one-tenth of what was promised to us…there wouldn’t be any inducement to go to heaven.10. The more you read and observe about this politics thing, you got to admit that each party is worse than the other.11. I love a dog. He does nothing for political reasons.12. Those who complain about the high cost of government should be glad we’re not getting all the government we’re paying for.13. This country has come to feel the same when Congress is in session as when a baby gets hold of a hammer.14. With Congress, every time they make a joke it’s a law, and every time they make a law it’s a joke.15. If I studied all my life, I couldn’t think up half the number of funny things passed in one session of Congress.
