So in Gunther’s ideal home life of the future he would have Luann going off to work at IBM in a soccer mom’s minivan while he would be looking after the 7 kids and the pot roast which is likely his creation, not hers? Then again, Mr Mom came out in83 or so, maybe Gunther watched it on TBS or something. I have to admit that Gunther was way ahead of the curb about throwing away outdated perceptions and expected roles for the nuclear family. Of course he could be working from home but this strip predates the ability of doing that online by several years as in 1995 the internet was available but for the most part through 14.4 and 28.8 kbs modems from the house. I remember playing the NCAA pick’em contest for the first time from a computer one of the chemists had set up on our floor in grad school, took forever to enter our picks on a 486 and while the graphics were good, almost all interaction on any website was limited to “guest pages”, the ESPN game page was the first I ever encountered. We used Mosaic and Netscape as the earliest search engines I can remember. A lot has happened in the last 28 years,

I liked it when Greg decided to make Gunther and Knute buddies. Shame it didn’t last.

Seven kids? Going to say Luann would agree with Knute.

Ironically, present day, is actually “playing house” with some other gal.
At least until the week is out and the boom gets lowered on him.
