I like how the “S” just stands for the word he’s spelling out. (Well, attempting to, anyway.)

i dunno, seems miss wormwood missed a spelling lesson opportunity here. Seriously, haven’t we all had teachers who definitely fell short of the mark? and kids can tell, they can see when teachers are not understanding them or the joy of learning!

I have a theory that one of the reasons that so many of us of a certain age follow “Calvin” involves the little demon that was in all of us at that age. We were just too shy or too well disciplined or just didn’t have the nerve to let the rascal out. Now we can have the fun of seeing what would have happened had we done so – and mostly feel glad that we didn’t, but sometimes….

Teachers have a lot of hard work and put up with a lot of shite.

All the same the bar is low, with all too much do it by the numbers and rote memorization. Teachers with passion, who really get students involved and thinking are infrequent standouts that make a real impact.
