Yes, you do look like Thor’s older sister, but that’s just because we’re vikings. We all look alike. The only way I can tell you from the others is that you make that funny noise when we make love.

Forgive the esoteric nature of this comment. The brother and sister in this image brought to my mind the characters Siegmund and Sieglinde in Wagner’s Die Walkure. (It is actually a depiction of Arminius Says Goodbye to Thrusnelda.)

That in turn brought to mind Thomas Mann’s short story, “The Blood of the Walsungs,” a disturbing work that offended Mann’s father-in-law as a smear on his family and was withdrawn from publication for many years (The brother and sister characters committed incest, as in the the original German mythology.) I enjoy reading Thomas Mann’s work, even if it’s only in translation.

I appreciate “That is Priceless” for stimulating an interest in visual arts and prompting me to do Google Research into the backgrounds that are biographical, sociological, and literary.
