I realize that I’m incredibly brilliant (and amazingly good looking), and I think we can both agree that I’m the smartest person in the room, and from there everyone elses intelligence falls off VERY sharply….so what I’m trying to say is, you probably want to think more like me.

The problem is not political, it is a lifestyle ideology. It is psychological. The right has collected all of the sociopaths.

The first thing you learn about political arguments is don’t argue with idiots. (Idiots are people who disagree with you.)

I do find it difficult to try and see another’s viewpoint when they think their political opposition is run by extraterrestrial reptoids who eat the flesh of babies.

I think the best noncommittal response to almost anything is “Good to know.”

And yet this is how too many people approach disagreement.

Political disagreements are manageable. The real problem is when you have a disagreement about the fundamental nature of reality masquerading as a political disagreement.

Unfortunately, the news’ insistence on “airing both sides” of every issue means that, yes, sometimes the other side are just morons.

and it feels so good when you stop hitting yourself.

Rat, it’s not nice to speak that way to your local politician.

The “proper way” is to put a few really juicy expletives between “a” and “moron”…!

You just know Rat is never going to be completely diplomatic about opinions!

It would, however, be a lot nicer than a lot of political exchanges I’ve seen, a number of which I would be ashamed even to quote.
