    Hey, I would have done that. High achievers have no understanding how tough it can be for learning challenged individuals to reach that goal. I had to work hard and spend hours on homework just to get a B. So what’s really sad is the insensitivity of today’s strip.

    I don’t see anything wrong with framing your first “A” if you’ve been a straight-A student throughout your whole academic life. Further, if framing his first “A” helps motivate the kid to get even more, then I think that should be encouraged and not frowned upon.

    Long time ago we got a dime per ‘A.’ While I was saving up for a nickel candy bar, my cousins made down payments on homes.
