Good morning™, everyone, and happy Valentines Day!
Just to recap my comment from the first time this ran:
From the story of George Reeves: “Present in the house at the time of the incident were Leonore Lemmon (Reeves’ fiancée), William Bliss, writer Robert Condon (whose brother, Richard Condon, was author of The Manchurian Candidate), and Carol Van Ronkel, who lived a few blocks away with her husband, screenwriter Rip Van Ronkel.”
Guest artist John Lucas commented:
My first instinct was to model the author on Condon, but he had the look of an old stiff. I’d already decided I wanted to give the fiancé and guests a more boho look, so I decided against a straight Condon likeness. I tried to keep some of his features but on a younger thinner turtle neckier figure.
the art is a visual assault on MY eyes and just too grating to look at… art should pop but the only things that are popping explosively, are my eyeballs… the art seems to project attitude… a bad attitude… the appeal of the art is in the eyes of the beholder… and I’ll be lucky if MINE are intact after this… LOL…
PANEL 2: LET’S WRAP THIS UP NOW! WHICH ONE OF YOU BUDDHA LOVIN’, POT SMOKIN’, ALCOHOLICS KILLED GEORGE WITH A FIREPLACE POKER IN HIS OWN MODEST BUT TASTEFULLY APPOINTED HOME?
Can YOU find all of the items referenced in Tracy’s question within Panel 1? (No prize will be awarded to winners)
While we’re being treated(?) to this Minit Mystery, Art Dekko is being processed, a statement is being taken from Sue Reel, & the MCU are doing their weekly paperwork, & who wants to see 2 weeks worth of THAT?
Maybe I’m just feeling contrarian…, but I like the art work today, and getting the potential suspects together for the traditional mystery showdown before the ace detective is economical story-telling. Plus, the analogies with the Real Life tragedy of George Reeves remain strong and pointed. All in all, a day’s work well done, IMO….

Tracy Meets Doctor Fix!
Chapter Two
Tracy had to chuckle when Vitamin agreed to host the MCU Follies.
“I knew all I had to do was offer that ham a starring role and he’d agree in a heartbeat!”, he thought to himself.
“Vitamin, if we advertise this as a tribute to law enforcement with all the proceeds going to charity we’ll sell the place out!”
“An excellent idea Richard, KandiKane and I will begin setting everything up!”
Tracy had to resist the urge to grimace, how he hated that kiddie brat, gold digging wife of Vitamin’s.
“That’s great, Vitamin. You two lovebirds take care of all that and I’ll round up the talent!”
Tracy looked around, saw Sam and cried out: “Sam, get your pickled nose out of that comic book and come over here. We need to talk!”
Continued soon, very soon

Just in case anybody is as shocked as I am, let me assure you that Poe and Lovecraft never went to bed together.

If I remember correctly, I commented during the original arc that the style reminded me of the Heavy metal (™️) comic style.

The saga continues, and I enjoyed the comment by the artist John Lucas!

I’m getting a snarling Kirk Douglas vibe from the last panel. Brrr!

“Manchu Candidate”? That’s his name?
I wonder why I don’t remember this at all. I must have read every one of them, and I think I would remember “George Reeds,” but I don’t.

I don’t remember the story from last time, but I cannot forget Tracy’s chinblade!

If Lovecraft had had a daughter, I wouldn’t put it past him to name her after a corpse.

the way Dick’s chin is drawn in that last panel, it look like the landing strip of an aircraft carrier… it’s wide enough and almost as long…

A new documentary on the late criminal “Murph The Surf” has been released—-here’s what the creator says in the press release.
“Murphy takes us back to a day when we celebrated criminals tothe point that they almost felt emboldened to commit crimes”
“Why are we attracted to certain people who we suspect aren’t telling the truth, but somehow we don’t care?”
Hmmmm….remind you of anybody we ’ve been reading about for the past two months??
The doc also says that after serving a murder sentence,MurphThe Surf “found religion”.
Probably like Tracy’s “Mistress Of Death” found religion
