“-stein”, trans. “stone” or “rock” can relate to any settlement on or close to a rock – there are many of them in middle Europe
I thought “zilla” came form the Japanese “jira”; Godzilla comes form the Anglicization of “Gojira.”
Somewhere, an etymologist is crying.
