    I’m still confused about who all pronounces “aunt” which way. I grew up in California and it was always pronounced like “ant”, and it wasn’t until I was a teen that I was even aware of “awnt” or “ont”. Just my opinion, but I always thought that the “ont” pronunciation sounded like a Britishism, or perhaps a bit pretentious. “Auntie” (pronounced either way) always sounded too “cutesy” for me.
