Young Calvin loved the snow. Older C/F seems to have no problems with it, either.

It is a new level of cold there. They were talking about Shackelford in Antarctica where it was so cold that fillings shrank and fell out of teeth.

I went to give a seminar to Wisconsin in the winter. GRAY, GRAY and more GRAY! I was told that drinking and suicide were prevalent.

I have posted this before, but I will again. If you love maps Mapheads by Ken Jennings is a great read. It covers everything from the first maps that warned “there be dragons here” in what is now the Americas to geocaching.

There are companies which sponsor virtual hikes with real medals available. Conqueror Challenges is one; you can sign up for hikes based on the real world or ones based on fantasy, such as The Lord of the Rings. You get digital postcards, trees planted, and other incentives to complete your goal.
