If the cops were off duty he suckered them into working on their down time for a filthy rich couple who could have easily paid neighborhood kids and homeless people to do the clean up and pocket some honestly earned cash.
If the cops were on duty and being paid by the tax payers I would imagine that somebody is in deep doo-doo.
after watching the last couple of seasons of Blue Bloods, it is easy to imagine how crime leaders don’t want these neighborhoods cleaned up. Easier to keep people in line through fear. But this is a light hearted strip. I’m sure they won’t go there.
So it will end up as a community center or a shelter or maybe one of those projects that give homeless people homes. Either way, these officers did some wonderful work that day.
Kind of wholesome that the police were so busy with cleanup work they couldn’t hassle people elsewhere in the city, but if this were real life, they would be using prison labor to do personal favors for private citizens.

In real life the lot would be trashed again by the following day.

Seeing so many of the ‘Blue Gang’ around would discourage criminal activity, until they’re gone.

Looks like there’s still some graffiti to clean up!

Didn’t see anyone from the neighborhood drawn in and helping. If they don’t buy in to keeping it clean it will soon be a mess again.

This isn’t funny. It’s private property.

It’s not exactly kosher to recruit cops to do personal chores for friends of yours.
So this better be an expansion of The Mission.

If this doesn’t count as extra credit, there may be trouble brewing.
